CNC Machining

APW has eight CNC machining centers consisting of 5 Haas mills up to a 40” x 84” work envelope and 3 routers including a 5’ x 12’ 5 axis CR Onsrud.  We machine a wide variety of materials including foam, wood, metal, and plastic.

Matchplates

APW provides fully machined aluminum matchplates, mounted impressions (wood, urethane, aluminum, and iron).  We also provide mounted or machined in plate gating.  Additionally our core boxes can be fully rigged with backing plates, vents, & ejection.  While we have standard equipment design templates we can tailor the equipment design to meet your foundry specifications.

COPE AND DRAG

We provide large format wood and urethane cope & drag equipment including loose and change pieces.  Our equipment can be provided loose, mounted, framed, and gated to your specifications.

Solidification & Flow Analysis

APW utilizes Solid Cast and Solid Flow software to provide solidification and flow analysis for our customers.  Solidification eliminates the trial and error process to create accurate castings and increase yield.  Solidification is particularly beneficial for high volume and complicated castings.

Reverse Engineering & Inspection

APW utilizes a 2.5 meter Romer arm to reverse engineer castings and existing equipment as well as providing CMM inspections including PPAP’s.

CAD Engineering

APW utilizes Solidworks for our equipment design.  We can create 3D models from 2D drawings and also provide 2D drawings from 3D models.  We provide our customers with casting and equipment models prior to manufacturing the foundry equipment.

Prototypes & 3D Printing

APW can provide prototypes utilizing 3D printed parts or equipment.  We can also provide 3D printed sand molds to prove out the design prior to machining production equipment.
